Scott Brown: Trying to Have It Both Ways
Scott Brown: Trying to Have It Both Ways
As he tries to make the case to Massachusetts voters of how bipartisan he is, touting his pride in working with President Obama, he is at the same time promising to his corporate special interest and anti-Obama donors, as well as right-wing Republican base groups, that he will be their champion, especially in an Obama second term. As a result, Brown is in the position of constantly having to run both hot and cold on Obama. He will simultaneously do anything to hug the President publicly even while dissing him more quietly to his Republican supporters.
This week, Brown put out a radio ad talking about his work with the President. He talks about how proud he was to work with Obama and how important cooperation is. “We need to work together now,” Brown says. Last month he flew to D.C. twice in one week to be at signing ceremonies at Obama's side, after begging and prodding to be invited. Brown also staked out his seat on the aisle at the State of the Union hours in advance to make sure he could be seen on TV with Obama.
Obama is very popular in Massachusetts, and Brown couldn’t be any clearer about how much of a drag he thinks his very close personal friend Mitt Romney is on the ticket. It’s pretty difficult in a Presidential Election year to run with the opposite party’s candidate while running away from your own party’s standard bearer—especially when that standard bearer happens to be your longtime friend and political mentor. In fact, Brown is facing a terrible dilemma: spending so much time trying to associate with Obama, while continuing to trash him in fundraising appeals, creates a very big problem for him. Add to that the fact that Obama and Warren are actually close allies, and Brown is in a bind.

Obama with his new best friend Scott Brown, who like gum on his shoe.
The last thing he wants to do is drive home in that miserable truck

Obama’s Use of Complete Sentences Stirs Controversy « Borowitz Report
Obama’s Use of Complete Sentences Stirs Controversy « Borowitz Report:

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – In the first term in office, President Barack Obama has broken with a tradition established over the previous eight years through his controversial use of complete sentences, political observers say.
New polls indicate that millions of Americans are put off by the President’s unorthodox verbal tic, which has Mr. Obama employing grammatically correct sentences virtually every time he opens his mouth.
Mr. Obama’s decision to use complete sentences in his public pronouncements, as well as his insistence on the correct pronunciation of the word “nuclear,” has harmed his reelection hopes among millions of voters who find his unusual speaking style unfamiliar and bizarre.
Obama doing something radical for a president. It's called reading.

Just how stupid does Mitt Romney
think we are? If you’ve been following his campaign from the beginning,
that’s a question you have probably asked many times.
But the question was raised with particular force last week, when Mr.
Romney tried to make a closed drywall factory in Ohio a symbol of the
Obama administration’s economic failure. It was a symbol, all right —
but not in the way he intended.
First of all, many reporters quickly noted a point that Mr. Romney somehow failed to mention: George W. Bush, not Barack Obama, was president when the factory in question was closed. Does the Romney campaign expect Americans to blame President Obama for his predecessor’s policy failure?
Yes, it does. Mr. Romney constantly talks about job losses under Mr.
Obama. Yet all of the net job loss took place in the first few months of
2009, that is, before any of the new administration’s policies had time
to take effect. So the Ohio speech was a perfect illustration of the
way the Romney campaign is banking on amnesia, on the hope that voters
don’t remember that Mr. Obama inherited an economy that was already in
free fall.

Taxes are for suckers
President Obama’s 2011 income tax documents showed on Friday that he paid a significantly higher rate than the significantly richer Mitt Romney, highlighting the titanic level of tax shirking committed by far too many 1 percenters.
President Obama paid 20.5 percent on earnings of $789,674. The President’s total income is the amount Romney raked in every two weeks last year, for a total of $21 million. Romney, the likely GOP presidential nominee, has estimated he’ll pay a tax rate of only 15.4 percent. Romney is among the millionaires and billionaires – the 1 percenters – enjoying the lowest levels in 50 years. Some pay nothing!

Dick Cheney: Obama Has Been 'Unmitigated Disaster To The Country'
Dick Cheney: Obama Has Been 'Unmitigated Disaster To The Country':
"Cheney even threw in a couple of political plugs amid much reminiscing at the Wyoming Republican Party state convention in Cheyenne on Saturday.
He said the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is going to do a "whale of a job." He said it's never been more important than now to defeat a sitting president and the Republican Party should unite behind Romney.
"He has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney said of President Barack Obama.
The Wyoming Republican Party chose 14 delegates Saturday to this summer's Republican National Convention and all of them are committed to support Romney. The state will send a total of 29 delegates to the RNC.
Cheney's heart transplant in Virginia on March 24 initially canceled his trip to the state party convention but he got last-minute medical clearance to go.
"I'm not running any foot races yet but it won't be long," he said.
He owed a "huge debt" to the unknown donor of his new heart, he said, and to medical technology. He did not take the opportunity to weigh in on health care politics.
LP - This from the architect of the Iraq open sore, economic collapse, the foreclosure collapse. hahahahhahahahahahahha.
