Ed Schultz goes off on the gutting of the post office by US Congress
USPS does not pay real estate taxes on their land, nor do they pay fuel taxes for the gas & diesel they use in their delivery vehicles (they get a refund of all taxes). The USPS also is exempt from having to buy license plates and state-mandated safety inspections. The USPS also does not pay sales tax on delivery vehicles.
The key is the US Congress making them fund retirement 75 years into the future. That is funding for people who don't even work for the Post Office right now. Without this vote the Post Office is actually earning a profit. The key is the US Congress should be in the habit of solving problems, not creating them. We need more public servants in congress in less political shills to the highest bidder.
