Rachel Maddow discussed Michigan court ruling of putting Michigan emergency manager ruling on the ballot
This is great news. Michigan has decided to have a referendum concerning whether all citizens of the their state will get to enjoy democracy or maybe voting has become just a passe idea. Unfortunately, the pro-democratic elements will start ten points down and you can rest assured that tons of dirty money will be coming to Michigan to flood the state with confusing and misleading commercials. This was the same ballot initiative that the supporters collected about twice the number of signatures they needed to put this on the ballot but it was turned down because the signatures were given to them, I kid you not, in the wrong font size. This is likely going to be the next big fight for labor and local control and it will determine whether America will continue on its descent from democracy and back to its monarchy roots or whether this course can be reversed.

Democracy stopped in Michigan over Font Size: no kidding
LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) - The State Board of Canvassers deadlocked along party lines 2-2, preventing the measure to repeal the controversial Emergency Manager law from getting on the November ballot.
When the four-member board’s decision came down, supporters of the repeal measure stood up and started chanting, “Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame!”
A few angry observers even crossed the room and stood right in front of the board’s table shouting, “Shame! Shame on you!”
The board then took a ten minute recess.
Three votes were needed to certify the repeal measure.
The board could not agree on the validity of a challenge to the measure from a group that said the petitions were not legal because the heading was printed in a smaller type size than required.

Michigan challenge their own anti-democratic city manager law.
The law largely allows them to hire any city or town politicians, tear up any contracts that are agreed upon, and put somebody unelected in charge. In other words set up mini-dictatorships.
