Corporate public television brings corporate education leader to town, with little room for the public in a public television sponsored event.

About 300 hundred protesters showed up to protest the former Washington Chancellor Michelle Rhee appearance in WGBH Speakers series tonight at Boston's Symphony Hall. There were plenty of educators involved as there were also elements of Occupy Boston, and a large and vocal contingent of Boston students. The protesters were chanting "SOS... Save our schools." These chants were dispersed with "Who's a cheat, Michelle Rhee."

They were also calling out, "Whose city; our city. Whose money; our money. Whose education; our education."

Several Boston students came dressed up as both graduates and in prison jump suits with signs that said "youth prisoners." One comment overheard was "Money for schools not for prisons."

Ms. Rhee was known to charge $50,000 dollars per speaking engagement which means she was making more in two hours than some teachers, who she constantly attacked while in Washington, make in a year. For this Rhee worked minimally for teach for America. Her scores were basically flat in DC and school under her were flagged for an exceptionally large number of erasures on standardized tests. She has still been rewarded for being a loyal foot shoulder for the money elite.

The protesters added the chant, "$50,000 dollars that's a whole lot of books."
